Badam-Kaju Halwa

Ingredients:

1 cup Badam/Almonds

1/2 cup Cashew/kaju

1 1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup ghee/1 full butter stick

1 cup milk

4 tsp cardamom powder

1 pinch food colour /saffron

Method:

1. Soak the almonds in hot water for 3-4 hrs and peel the skin off.

2. Add almonds, cashew and milk in a mixie and grind them into a coarse paste ( just like the dosa batter consistency).

3. To a hot tava, add 2-3 tsp ghee and add the almond-cashew paste.

4. Keep stirring it continuously and once it starts boiling add the sugar slowly and continue stirring.

5. Mix the food color in a spoon of milk and add it to the boiling paste.

6. Now add the remaining ghee and keep stirring until it thickens.

7. Take care so that the halwa doesnt stick to the bottom ,if so add some more ghee.

8. Once the Badam-Kaju halwa stops bubbling and is not sticking to the bottom,  add cardamom powder and stir for a min.

9. Garnish it with few Badam piecies and serve it hot.

TitBits 🙂

* Use a non-stick pan to avoid the halwa burning at the bottom.

* U can also exclude cashews and make exclusive badam Halwa. Rest of the method being the same.( Badam :sugar :: 1:1)

*  If u dont have food color or saffron u can still make a delicious halwa , just the colour being milky white.

You need to take little effort to enjoy this delicious sweet!

Trust me! Its worth all the effort of stirring it continuously ! 😀

Thanks a ton!

Enjoy the Badam-Kaju Halwa!!!
